For 2020 we will celebrate the forty-first running of the Laurel Highlands Ultra. The race will be dedicated to the Butchko brothers, Paul and Joe, who founded the Laurel Highlands Trail Race over four decades ago. Their extended family have been running and volunteering at the race every year. For those of you that have had the pleasure of meeting Paul and Joe you know they are sorely missed.
Each year, proceeds from the race are donated to the Laurel Highlands Trail through the Pennsylavania Parks and Forest Foundation. The money donated goes directly to the trail to provide material and services for maintenance. Future donations from the race will be made in Paul and Joe Butchko's name as a tribute to their love of the trail.

Welcome to the home page for the Laurel Highlands Ultra races. Each year the race is held on the second Saturday in June. 2020 will be the forty-first running of the 70.5 mile race and the fifteen running of the 50K race. The races will start in Ohiopyle, PA, with the 70.5 mile individual and relay races running the entire length of the trail and the 50K races finishing at the 31 mile point near the intersection of Route 31. All of the races are point-to-point along the Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail.

Special thanks to the Pennsylvania state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) for allowing the use of the Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail for this race.
